In advance of her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle is joining the Church of England. The Sunday Times reports that her christening will be held in a chapel at Kensington Palace sometime in March, and that her parents will join her for the ceremony.

Markle, who was raised Protestant and attended Catholic school as a child, will be both baptized and confirmed by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, reports Roya Nikkhah, royal correspondent for the Times.

This could mark the first time Prince Harry meets his bride-to-be's father face-to-face. During the couple's first sit-down interview with the BBC following the announcement of their engagement, Markle shared that Harry had "talked to my dad a few times, hasn't been able to meet him just yet."

While she hasn't formally joined the church yet, Markle is already well-versed in its rules. In February, Welby said that her previous divorce from Trevor Engelson is "not a problem." (Markle and Engelson divorced in 2013, citing "irreconcilable differences.")

"We went through that as anyone would who will officiate at a wedding where someone has been separated and a partner is still living," Welby continued, per Sky News.

He also said he's "looking forward" to the big day in Windsor. "The wedding is going to be wonderful," Welby said.
