Kate Middleton, Prince William, and the Cambridge Kids Fly to Scotland Using Budget Airline
Prince George and Princess Charlotte start school early next month, but they're making the most of their summer break, and spending the weekend at Balmoral Castle in Scotland with their great-grandmother, the Queen.
The whole Cambridge family was spotted this morning boarding a budget airline to fly to Aberdeen for a late summer getaway. (Given the recent scrutiny that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing over their use of Elton John's private jet, comparisons between the two brothers and their travel methods are guaranteed.)
It's customary for the Queen's family to come and stay with her in Scotland during her summer holiday. Over the past few weeks, the British monarch has been visited by Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Sophie Countess of Wessex, and the York Princesses.
Harry and Meghan likely won't be there this weekend because Prince Harry is attending the Rugby League Challenge Cup final on Saturday at Wembley Stadium, but we can expect to see Will and Kate riding with the Queen to church on Sunday.
Princess Eugenie has previously shared that Balmoral is one of Queen Elizabeth's favorite places.
"I think Granny is [happiest] there. I think she really, really loves the Highlands," the monarch's granddaughter said in the documentary Our Queen At Ninety.
“Walks, picnics, dogs—a lot of dogs, there’s always dogs—and people coming in and out all the time,” Eugenie continued. “It’s a lovely base for Granny and Grandpa, for us to come and see them up there, where you just have room to breathe and run.”
The British monarch will reportedly return to London, and to the public eye, in October.
