Before Prince George and Princess Charlotte head back to school in September, the Cambridges are spending some quality time with Gan-Gan in Scotland. The Queen is currently on herannual summer holiday at Balmoral Castle, and friends and family have been streaming in all month to spend time with her. This morning, Duchess Kate was spotted on her way to church alongside the Queen.
Here's a closer look at Kate's outfit, a gray Catherine Walker coat-dress with covered buttons, black piping, and the shoulder detailing that is quickly becoming the Duchess's signature. She paired it with a dark hat and sleek updo.
Prince William was also at church in Scotland; he was riding in the front seat of the car on the way to services.
In addition to church, a grouse hunt was also reportedly on the itinerary this weekend. (Grouse, for those unfamiliar, is a kind of bird, somewhat similar to a chicken.) Emily Andrews, royal correspondent for The Sun, reports that "George was taken to his first grouse shoot on Friday by Kate" and that the Queen, Prince Charles, the Wessexes including Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, and Zara and Mike Tindall joined for lunch.
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also reportedly in Scotland this weekend, no photographs of the newlyweds have surfaced yet.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to be staying with the Queen at Balmoral, her Aberdeenshire estate, where bracing walks and barbecues amid the midges are on the itinerary," Roya Nikkhah, royal correspondent for theSunday Timeswrote. Perhaps they managed to elude the photographers.
