On the second day of the royal tour of Scandinavia, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a red-and-white houndstooth coat by Catherine Walker while advocating for mental health at the Karolinska Institute in Solna, Sweden.

The bright coat, which she paired with a Chanel handbag and pearl earrings by the Swedish brand In2Design, appears to be a sartorial homage to Princess Diana's favorite looks from the early '90s. The Princess of Wales first wore this red-and-white houndstooth jacket by Moschino to a church service in Sandringham with the royal family in December 1990 with a matching black-and-white skirt, red hat, and pearl earrings.

Diana wore it again on the royal tour of Canada in October 1991 when she greeted her sons Prince William and Prince Harry on the deck of the yacht Britannia in Toronto.

Even though Prince George and Princess Charlotte aren't along on the royal tour of Sweden and Norway to capture a similar moment, Duchess Kate did high five kids with an adorable amount of enthusiasm as she left the Matteusskolan School in Sweden Wednesday afternoon.

Like her daughter-in-law, Princess Diana was such a fan of recycling her favorite designer looks she wore it a third time to an event at the National Hospital For Neurology And Neurosurgery in 1992.

While this is the first time Duchess Kate has worn this coat in public, we can only hope she'll recycle this look again and again just like her late mother-in-law.
