Kate Middleton's Brother Brought His Dog on the Red Carpet, Deserves All the Awards
The royals have always been dog lovers, but Kate Middleton's brother James takes it to a new, glorious level. James's Instagram is replete with photos of his "pack" of five pups, who he pedals around London his special "dog bike." When Fathers Day comes around, he celebrates as a dog dad—and when he walks a red carpet, he might just bring a furry plus one.
Such was the case last night when he brought Ella—the licensed therapy dog in his pack—as his date. "I think I should win the award for the best date for the GQ Men of The Year Awards," he joked in an Instagram post. He wore a tux with a red velvet jacket, while Ella went for a Scottish-inspired, tartan-accented look. (It paired beautifully with her luxurious black fur.)

Ella became a therapy dog last year, according to James's Instagram. "Advocates of animal-assisted therapy say that developing a bond with an animal can help people develop a better sense of self-worth and trust, stabilize their emotions, and improve their communication, self-regulation, and socialization skills," he wrote in a post last December. "I am a huge believer in this & Ella has done so much for me and we look forward to sharing the love, [tummy] tickles and many visits in 2019."
James has been open about his struggles with depression in the past, and has found comfort with his dogs—and he hopes to help others do the same.
