How Prince George Spent His Fifth Birthday

He's currently on vacation with his family in the Caribbean.

It's good to be a future king. While most five-year-olds would be content with a cake, party games, and a few presents, Prince George spent his birthday this year with his family on a private island in the Caribbean.

Rumors have been swirling that the Cambridges are currently on a vacation, their first as a family of five, and today, a source on the ground tells T&C that Will, Kate, and their children are indeed on holiday in Mustique, an island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Kensington Palace has yet to comment, and they likely won't, given that this is a personal trip.


The private island is located in the West Indies, just south of St. Lucia

While Will and Kate were away from home on George's birthday on Sunday, they didn't forget to mark the milestone publicly. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a new portrait of their oldest son, along with a message of thanks to royal fans. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday – thank you everyone for your lovely messages," reads the statement.

Taken by Matt Porteous, the photo shows Prince George with a huge grin shortly after his brother Prince Louis's christening ceremony.


The public likely won't see Prince George again over the next month, though there's a chance the Palace will release another portrait when he heads back to school in September. If they choose to forgo that photo, rumor has it we'll see him reprise his role as page boy in Princess Eugenie's wedding come October.
