Just when you thought Prince Harry couldn’t get any cooler, news of him living the secret life of a rock star breaks out. It’s been revealed that the fifth in line to the British throne has been taking part in covert late-night jam sessions with American rock band The Killers for about a decade now.

Drummer Ronnie Vannuci reveals they met the royal at a show about ten years ago. "We got along," he says. “He just showed up at a show one time and we got along. I mean it’s been 10 years I guess. There’s been a lot of long nights.”

Vanucci says the royal doesn't always go alone. “There have been cousins and things like that from the family and they’re all just regular dudes and nice people.” Within the band, Prince Harry is treated as just one of the guys, without the need for any royal protocol, says Vanucci.

What instrument does Prince Harry play when he’s with the band? We’re not quite sure but it may be his tambourine, which we saw during a cameo appearance in a video tribute for the Queen's jubilee a few years back.

The young prince was spotted attending one of the band’s concerts at Barclaycard’s British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park last month.
