After they made hearts melt during the royal visit to Canada last year, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are set to join their parents on another overseas trip later this month.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that George, 3, and Charlotte, 2, will travel with their parents on their summer tour of Germany and Poland, which is scheduled to take place from July 17 through July 21.

A statement from the Palace said the Cambridges are "very much looking forward" to their visit and that the public can expect to see the royal children "on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week."

The Cambridges leave Canada, October 2016.

The tour will be the second official visit abroad for Charlotte and the third for George, who went to Australia and New Zealand with his parents in 2014.

The five-day trip will begin in Warsaw and will include visits to cities including Gdansk in Poland, and Berlin, Heidelberg, and Hamburg in Germany. As well as meeting with business leaders and government officials, the Palace highlights that the Duke and Duchess will "prioritize opportunities to meet the young people of both countries; from entrepreneurs to mental health campaigners, and bright young talents in music and the arts."

Details of the visit to Europe have emerged amid claims William and Kate are becoming Britain's "Brexit ambassadors."

Following a visit to Paris in March and Kate's solo trip to Luxembourg in May, the summer trip is part of a series of European tours by the royal family which is said to have the aim of strengthening ties with the continent ahead of the UK leaving the EU.
