A statement on EltonJohn.com simply cited a "scheduling conflict" for his May 18 and 19 shows, and the concerts were rescheduled for Sunday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 16. All the ticket orders for May 18 and 19 were refunded, and ticketholders received access to an advance presale to buy tickets for the rescheduled shows.
John, who attended Prince William and Duchess Kate’s nuptials, was close with Princess Diana. He worked with Prince William and Harry's mother to raise money and awareness for AIDS research and also performed "Candle in the Wind" at her 1997 funeral.
Previously, John opened up about how happy Prince Harry has been with Markle. "I could tell that he was totally in love," John said about when he saw Harry in Sicily. "He didn't really discuss much personally but he said 'I'm in love' and I thought 'good for you.' Both of those boys seem to be ecstatically happy and that's all you want people to be."
