Early in the morning on May 6, 2019, Meghan Markle gave birth to her first child with Prince Harry, a baby boy named Archie. Since then, royal watchers have been champing at the bit for more details—and thanks to the release of the newborn's birth certificate, they finally have a little more information.

The document uses the newborn's full name, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. It also reveals that the child was delivered at Portland Hospital in Westminster—a detail that the royal family had previously kept under wraps. In April, fans were surprised to learn that Meghan and Harry would be keeping the details of their birth plan private, as opposed to the fanfare and photocall associated with Kate Middleton's three births. Since then, rumors had surfaced that Archie was born in a hospital, and now, it's been confirmed.

Also of note: how the document refers to Meghan Markle's job—or the job of Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex, as she's referred to in the document. On the birth certificate, Meghan's job is listed as "Princess of the United Kingdom." The royal family took the same approach when defining Kate Middleton's occupation. On Prince Louis's birth certificate from last year, Kate's occupation was also listed as "Princess of the United Kingdom."

Interestingly, this birth certificate is typed. Prince William and Kate Middleton's children have had both typed out and handwritten certificates (Prince Louis had the former, while Prince George and Princess Charlotte had the latter). Although it's an intriguing detail, there's likely no important or official reason why the certificate would be made either way.
