Alexi Lubomirski, the photographer who took Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's official engagement portraits last December and is serving as the official photographer for their wedding, has a fascinating story of his own. Here are 11 things to know about him.

Lubomirski Will Serve as Meghan and Harry's Official Wedding Photographer

He shared the news saying, "I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion. Having taken Prince Harry and Ms. Markle's engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story."

It's only fitting Lubomirski would reveal the news on Instagram, as that's where Meghan first found him. He told E! News earlier this year, "I think one of Meghan’s friends saw me on Instagram that I was in England during the announcement of the engagement and I was told later that this person said to her, 'You should meet Alexi. He’s great. You’d love him," and that was it."

Lubomirski says the shoot was "was one of the easiest, most joyful jobs" of his career.

"They were so deliciously in love," Lubomirski told E! News. He said that he simply told the young couple, "Just be yourselves and I will take pictures of you" during what was his first engagement shoot.

He's a prince.

Lubomirski was born in England to a Peruvian/English mother and a Polish/French father, and when he was an 11-year-old growing up in Botswana, he learned about his royal lineage through the Polish House of Lubomirski, which stretches back 500 years.

He trained with Mario Testino.

Testino, who shot Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement portrait, hired Lubomirski as his assistant in Paris after the young photographer graduated from the University of Brighton. Lubomirski spent four years working for Testino.

Here, the friendly photographer offers a personal introduction in a YouTube video.

"It was an incredible honor to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other," Lubomirski says about his royal engagement portrait assignment. "I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took off them, such was their happiness together."
