7 Times Royals Wore the Same Dress as Their Mother
Who wouldn't want to borrow from a queen?

It's no surprise that members of the royal houses of Europe have extraordinary wardrobes—and palace closets big enough to store it away for the next generation. Here, seven times princesses wore a dress borrowed from their mother or mother-in-law, plus one American example we couldn't resist including.

1. Charlotte Casiraghi & Caroline of Monaco

Pierre's mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco, wore the same dress when she attended the 59th Red Cross Ball on July 27, 2007 in Monte Carlo, Monaco alongside her husband Prince Ernst August of Hanover.

3. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden & Queen Silvia of Sweden

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden wore her mother's chic yellow outfit to a conference in Stockholm on August 28, 2017.

Queen Silvia of Sweden originally wore it during a visit to Moscow, Russia in June 1978.

4. Princess Estelle & Princess Victoria of Sweden

Estelle's mother, Princess Victoria, wore the same dress in this photo taken with her parents, King Carl Gustaf XVI and Queen Silvia of Sweden, and her brother Prince Carl Philip at the King's 34th birthday on April 30, 1980.

5. Mabel Friso & Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands

Prince Johan's mother Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, who became Queen of the Netherlands and reigned from 1980 to 2013, wore the dress with her future husband Claus van Amsberg on the occasion of their engagement announcement at Soestdijk Palace in Baarn near Amersfoort, June 1, 1965.

6. Queen Maxima & Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands

Americans can play this game: In 2014, Ivanka wore her mother's Bob Mackie dress to designer Joseph Altuzarra's wedding to real estate developer Seth Weissman.

Donald's first wife wore the dress to the "Best" party in 1991.
