Abuzz with new restaurant launches and store openings, The Podium has been the talk of the town as an exciting dining and shopping destination lately. The SM subsidiary’s remodeling last year brought new life to the mall, and this included game-changing additions to the mall floorplan. The new Podium brought topnotch dining options over to this side of the metro. Much to the delight of gourmands in the area, The Podium, in partnership with Town&Country, celebrated with a select number of guests who dined at five restaurants: Nikkei, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, Paradise Dynasty, Nono’s, and Las Flores.

The restaurants put their best food forward and each prepared an exclusive menu to serve several T&C tables.

At Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, guests were served the iconic prime dry-aged Porterhouse steak. Leah Puyat, who dined at the steakhouse along with Eduarda Genuino, Angelette Calero, Cheskie Tantoco, Mons Romulo, and Maia Puyat, recommends the prized steak. Calero praised the appetizer dish (Wolfgang’s Crab Cake) on its menu.

Right beside Wolfgang’s was Spanish restaurant Las Flores, where Justin Golangco and Isabel Abad Santos and Pepper Teehankee and his mother enjoyed seven courses over the evening. Justin praised the salmon dish (Salmon a la Bilbaina), and Isabel noted that while she wasn’t a big fan of beef, she loved the beef dish she was served. On the menu that night was the Salmon Salmon, Tartar de Atun, Angus & Foie Minis, Hamburguesitas de Rabo de Toro Y Piparras, Salmon a la Bilbaina, Paella Negra, and Carrileras al Oloroso.

Over at Nikkei, a table was reserved for Stephen Sy, Mitch Go, Cherina Sy, Susiean Go, and Mannix Peña. Stephen said he liked the ceviche they were served, as well as the pork dish (Braised Iberico Prok Cheek). The group was also served multiple dishes, from Nikkei’s Panko sushi dish to Tiraditos, to the Fideo Saltado, or Peruvian chow mein.

On the second floor, a group of girlfriends communed over Chinese cuisine at Paradise Dynasty. Kai Lim enjoyed the chilled jellyfish with seafood, while Nicole Ortega highlighted the vegetable dish (lettuce roll with homemade sesame sauce), red dates stuffed in steamed glutinous rice, and the stir-fried shredded pork in black bean sauce served with Chinese crepes. Together with friends Carol Cabangon and Kim Cuerva, the table was also treated to the restaurant’s colorful variation of xiao long bao.

Next door, Lisa Crespo and Mabel Sinjian dined at Nono’s. Both ladies found the Homestyle Fried Chicken and the signature dessert, Nono’s Chocolate Oblivion, to their liking. At the table next to them, Pia Lago, Mara Villavicencio, and Trina Alindogan enjoyed the shrimp thermidor and truffle cream pasta.

Afterward, the guests converged at Nikkei to cap off the night with after-dinner cocktails; a selection that included Sake Sangria, Norito, Ruby Sake Soda, and Gone Geisha. Before guests left, they were given boxes of Bake cheese tarts to take home.
