Power Plant Mall’s recent facelift is an exciting development. But apart from all-new dining spots inside the building, a contemporary glass structure just across the mall has been generating considerable buzz.

This trendy new fixture in Rockwell’s urban landscape is Harlan + Holden Dine’s Rockwell Glasshouse, the lifestyle retailer’s biggest dining venture yet.

Sitting on a lush plot of land surrounded by greenery, the restaurant is housed in a glass pavilion, mimicking the feel of a modern-day greenhouse. Inside, diners get ample natural light through ultra-modern glass exteriors and a subdued palette of color conceptualized by Copenhagen-based design firm GamFratesi.

In an ode to nature, trees decorate the interiors, alternating between powder blue booths and wooden tables. Similar to Harlan + Holden apparel, Glasshouse evokes a simple and relaxed mood, suitable for both laid-back Sunday brunches or Saturday night celebrations, but still very much in tune with what’s in vogue. Every design aspect, down to its golden utensils and pale blue ceiling-to-floor curtains, thoughtfully contributes to the overall aesthetic that stays true to the Harlan + Holden name.

Inside Rockwell Glasshouse

Before there was Glasshouse, in the last quarter of 2017, Harlan’s dining component introduced its Greenbelt Pod, a smaller venture situated in Greenbelt 3, which served as a sort of launchpad for the meals that Glasshouse now offers.

Undoubtedly, it’s the breezy and light space that first draws diners in, but the menu is just as attractive, a product of Harlan + Holden’s long-time commitment to its gastronomic Healthy Mondays. This endeavor has been promoting the goodness of clean and healthy eating through gluten-free offerings and delectable vegan pastries and meals.

The fare itself is simple and unassuming. Glasshouse’s menu consists mainly of salads, pastas, sandwiches, coffee, and the Healthy Monday program. The more indulgent meals include a selection of rice bowls, all-day breakfast fare, and cake, taking off from the concept of family dining. First-timers must try the bottarga pasta, fried Portuguese sardines with garlic rice and eggs, the homemade corned beef rice bowl, or the Parma ham and Emmental cheese sandwich. Every dish is prepared à la minute, and makes use of only the freshest ingredients.
