Tiffany & Co. and Ralph Lauren aren't the only luxury designers with equally chic restaurants: Gucci just opened its own fashionable eatery, Gucci Osteria, within the newly-designed Gucci Garden in Florence, Italy

Gucci Garden is a reinvention of the Gucci Museo at the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, which dates back to 1337. Creative Director Alessandro Michele designed the Gucci Garden as a collaborative space featuring dedicated exhibition rooms, a 50-seat restaurant, and a retail store so visitors can experience and immerse themselves in the history of the fashion house. Like all things Gucci, the brand's first dining concept is Italian-inspired, incredibly chic, and instantly iconic.

Gucci Osteria was created by world-renowned chef Massimo Bottura, whose restaurant Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy boasts an impressive three Michelin stars. The menu is influenced by both Italian cuisine and Bottura's travels around the world, adding that visitors will find traditional Italian dishes with a few twists. A few menu items to expect are a Parmigiano Reggiano tortellini, pork buns, and a mushroom risotto, according to Harper's Bazaar. The restaurant sits on the ground floor of Gucci Garden and has all-day dining options available.

The palazzo is also home to the two-story Gucci Garden Galleria, which has a number of exhibition rooms displaying a range of Gucci pieces, from historical items dating back to 1921 to more recent collections. The Galleria is organized by theme rather than chronologically so vintage pieces are positioned alongside newly-designed ones.

"We decided to make the space a laboratory where you have all the elements with which to creatively experiment," said curator Maria Luisa Frisa, who designed the space along with Michele. "The past is very much part of the present at Gucci, which is perfectly in keeping with Alessandro’s idea of the brand, and indeed his attitude to Florence, Gucci’s home, which he sees as a city where history is still vibrantly alive."

Gucci Garden also has two rooms of retail space on the ground floor, featuring Gucci staples in addition to products that are exclusively designed and available at Gucci Garden. Visitors can shop Gucci's ready-to-wear clothing and accessories, along with books, the décor collection, and one-of-a-kind creations.
