New York is now home to the best restaurant in the world.

Eleven Madison Park, the contemporary American restaurant in the city's Flatiron District, was honored with the top spot at the World's 50 Best Restaurants awards in Melbourne, Australia Wednesday. Co-owners Will Guidara and Daniel Humm expressed their gratitude following the ceremony in a bromance-filled video posted on Twitter:

This is the first time an American restaurant has topped the list, which is compiled by a panel of approximately 1,500 food writers, chefs, and restaurateurs, since Thomas Keller's French Laundry took the number one spot in 2003 and 2004.

All the other winners in the top 10 are outside the United States, and the next-highest ranking American restaurant is in Pocantico Hills, New York's Blue Hill at Stone Barns, which placed 11th.
