Watch Lea Salonga's Return to Broadway in Once on This Island

With this year’s announcement that Lea Salonga will be making her return to the Broadway stage and releasing an album where she sings in different Filipino dialects, it’s clear that Tony Award winner Lea Salonga never rests on her laurels.

Music-lovers will be thrilled to know that Once On This Island is now showing at the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York. The story revolves around lowly island girl Ti Moune, who falls for a rich boy from the other side of the island. She is guided by four island gods Erzulie (played by Salonga), Asaka (Alex Newell), Papa Ge (Merle Dandridge), and Agwe (Quentin Earl Darrington). The musical is from the same Tony Award-winning writers of Anastasia and Ragtime. If you don't have one foot on the plane to New York yet, then perhaps this new preview clip from the production will entice you to see the musical’s revival:
