Art Fair: How You Can Be Part of The Year's Biggest Art Celebration
From private auctions of paintings, fine jewelry, and watches to movie screenings and exhibitions at Art Fair Philippines at the Link.

Art Fair Philippines’ Makati-wide event 10 Days of Art is already in full swing.

This year’s Art Fair is big on collective effort. The main event is housed at The Link, but it dispersed far and wide into public spaces and partner galleries. For 10 days, Makati hosts movies in the park, busker performances, public exhibitions, auctions, and sound feasts.

Widening the scope of the fair is a great way to bring art to the regular haunts of Makati residents, corporate executives, office employees, and students. Seen the other way around, it’s a genial way to get people closer to art.

For the last five years, Art Fair has always been a great mix of people. Months before the event, the art world and professional designers already bookmark the date. With their eye for form and color, these creatives make for a receptive (if not critical) art audience. Fine art professors, students, and culture writers come here to see where contemporary art is headed. Collectors aggressively hunt for pieces to add to their burgeoning stash. Then there those who come here with friends out of curiosity—a starting point for appreciation.

Here are Art Fair dates to mark on your February calendar:

It will hold a special free-for-all program every year. Four exhibitions are also slated, one of which is its inaugural show Prelude. In it, Mexican visual artist Carlos Amorales (who is also set to represent his country in the prestigious Venice Biennale) continues to mix techniques, media, and dark themes as exorcism and dictatorship. He has also collaborated with sound artist and composer Joaquin Orellana.
