From quite a number of plays and musicals to exciting beach parties and festivals, there are lots of fun events happening in the city. Here, some of the most awaited concerts and tours coming our way this summer.

1. Sabrina Carpenter


Singer, songwriter, and actress Sabrina Carpenter comes for the first time to the country with her third concert tour. The Singular Tour was launched in support of her new and upcoming albums Singular: Act I and Singular: Act II in Florida last March 2. The Singular Tour happens on April 9 at the New Frontier Theater.

2. MØ

In April, Danish singer and songwriter MØ comes to Manila for the first time for her Forever Neverland Tour. The artist rose to fame after collaborating with Iggy Azalea, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Snakehips, and Justin Bieber. She comes with her lead single “Nostalgia” as well as “Sun in Our Eyes,” “Way Down,” “Imaginary Friend,” and “Blur.” Listen to MØ’s chart-topping hits on April 15 at the New Frontier Theater.

3. Troye Sivan

Singer, songwriter, and actor Troye Sivan had quite a 2018, from starring in Joel Edgerton’s Boy Erased to collaborating with Ariana Grande and Charlie XCX. Not to mention, the South African-born Australian went on tour on the heels of debuting his second studio album, Bloom in September. If you want a preview of the concert, listen to the head singles “My My My!”, “The Good Side”, “Bloom”, “Dance to This” and “Animal.” The Bloom Tour will hit Manila on May 1 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

4. Jason Mraz

Jason Mraz is coming back to Manila to bring his unique brand of soulfull folk-pop. “I enjoy traveling to and performing for listeners in Asia,” Mraz says. “I feel a sense of gratitude and enthusiasm unlike anywhere else in the world, which makes a performance feel more like an event than a recital. The audience participation in Asia is harmonic and supersonic. I am thrilled to return, reconnect and re-experience the joy.” The concert is on May 8 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

5. Lauv

Lauv, the artist behind the chart-topping "I Like Me Better," comes to Manila and Cebu through his Asia tour. (If you remember, he visited Manila last year as part of the Wanderland Music and Arts Festival.) The singer, songwriter, and producer is currently on his headline U.S. tour while opening for Ed Sheeran. The performances for Manila and Cebu will be on May 20 and 21 respectively.

6. LANY

7. The 1975

Celebrate the end of summer with one of today’s hottest acts. The international indie pop band The 1975 will be touring to support their third studio album A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. Eschewing surprise and pop-up shows, The 1975’s newest tour is part of their goal to be “the biggest live spectacle in the world.” The show will take place on September 11 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
