House of Cards Season 6 Was Just Released on Netflix
Big changes are in the works for House of Cards. Here's everything we know so far about the show's final season, which was officially released on Netflix today.
ROBIN WRIGHT SAYS THE LAST EPISODE WILL "SHOCK YOU BEYOND BELIEF."
“It is going to shock you beyond belief what happens in the end,” she told Savannah Guthrie on the Today show this morning. And when Guthrie asked, "Are people going to be happy with the way this all ends?" Wright replied, "Boy, I hope so. We were pulling out all the stops. KEVIN SPACEY IS OUT.
During the fall of 2017, Kevin Spacey was fired from the Netflix series following allegations of sexual assault against the actor.
"Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement. "We will continue to work with MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show."
Spacey had played the lead role of Frank Underwood for five seasons on the show; now, the political series will center around Underwood's wife, Claire, played by Robin Wright.
Earlier this summer, Wright recently opened up about the news on the Today show."I think we were all surprised, of course, and ultimately saddened [by the allegations against Spacey]," she told Savannah Guthrie. "Kevin and I knew each other between 'action' and 'cut,' and in between setups where we would giggle. I didn't know the man. I knew the incredible craftsman that he is."
