Eto Na! Musikal nAPO!, an all-original Filipino musical told through songs by Apo Hiking Society, had a short but successful run in August at Maybank Performing Arts Theater in Bonifacio Global City. It's been more than a month since the opening night of this 9 Works Theatrical production, but we still can't get the lyrics to "Panalangin" and the dance moves to "Blue Jeans" out of our head. So imagine our excitement when we learned that Eto Na! Musikal nAPO! is having another run in 2019.

This news was revealed through an ad that ran on the back cover of Lungs' souvenir programs. Lungs is the newest production by Sandbox Collective, which happens to be the sister company of 9 Works. The rerun schedule was further confirmed by the theater company's public relations manager and dramaturg Jonjon Martin, who said that playdates will be around February or March.

Eto Na! Musikal nAPO! is a heartwarming look back at the '70s, but it's definitely a nostalgic show that even younger generations can relate to. This masterpiece by writer-director Robbie Guevara is proof that great jukebox musicals come from the perfect marriage of hit songs and a well laid-out story, and one shouldn't be more important than the other. It's up there with other critically acclaimed OPM-inspired Filipino musicals like Rak of Aegis and 3 Stars and a Sun.

Eto Na! Musikal nAPO! runs in the first quarter of 2019 at the Globe Auditorium, Maybank Performing Arts Theater, BGC Arts Center, 26th Street corner 9th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City. For updates, follow 9 Works Theatrical on Facebook.
