Casa De Memoria, the country's premier auction house for international fine and decorative art, will hold its first auction of the year “Age of Exploration” on March 17. The auction will feature “timeless pieces and art such as fine chinoiserie from the Orient and exotic pieces from Africa and the New World.”

Art and antique collectors can look forward to a melange of statement pieces from voyages past. The East meets West-themed selection includes furniture, woodworks, carpets and tapestry, porcelain and ceramics, paintings, metalworks, glass and crystals, silver pieces and ivory figures from China, Japan, and oriental items from Europe. Some of the items date back to the 16th-, 17th-, and 19th-centuries.

“Age of Exploration” is Casa De Memoria’s 10th auction since successfully launching in 2016. Casa differs from other auction houses in the way it encourages those interested to interact with the pieces, by allowing guests to sit down and experience the furniture pieces.
