The formal opening of Art Fair Philippines proved to be a raging success, mostly due to the impressive turnout of attendees and the many pieces that were quickly snapped up by the country’s top collectors. Here, we list down some of the most valuable works from Art Fair Philippines 2018:

Nothing Moves Itself Series by Elaine Navas, ARTINFORMAL


Navas’ painting is part of a series inspired by photographs captured by Ling Quisumbing while traveling from Mindoro to Manila. The large-scale painting uses various shades of blue and is priced at P2 million.

Iniquity Within (2018) by Anton Del Castillo, Galerie Anna


Acclaimed Filipino visual artist Anton Del Castillo’s life-size fiberglass sculpture is priced at P1.7 million.

Pumpkin by Yayoi Kusama, YOD + Kogure


The work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama needs no introduction. Her signature pumpkins have appeared as sculptures, paintings, and more. YOD + Kogure’s exhibited Kusama will set you back P17.5 million.

Arturo Luz, Salcedo Private View


Philippine National Artist for Visual Arts Arturo Luz has works that span from figurative works to sculptures and collages. These works on paper–mostly his early sketches from the '60s–are priced at P700,000 each.

House of Cards Redeemed by Daniel De La Cruz

De La Cruz's den of curiosities showcased the artist's many talents and was in itself a unique experience. This particular piece is valued between P2 to P2.3 million.

State of the World (2017) by Charlie Co, Gallery Orange

The Kiss by Luis Lorenzana, Secret Fresh Gallery


Lorenzana's The Kiss is a clever play on Gustav Klimt's masterpiece. The painting, which has a sculpture version, is valued at over P1.8 million.
