Wonder Kids: Blu Girls Win Silver at Asian Women's Softball Championship
The Blu Girls qualify for a slot in the 2018 Asian Games and the World Championships-bringing them closer to 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Philippine Blu Girls earned a silver medal in the 2017 Asian Women’s Softball Championship in Taichung, Taiwan.

The Blu Girls lost to powerhouse Japan, 7-0, but the second-place finish capped an impressive showing by the team in the competition.

With the second-place finish, the Philippines also qualified for the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia and the 2018 World Championship in Chiba, Japan.

The Philippine squad went 4-1 win-loss in Group A, finishing second behind unbeaten Japan (5-0).

In the page system playoffs, the Philippines lost to Chinese Taipei, 7-3, in the first match, but bounced back to beat Hong Kong, 17-0.

The Blu Girls beat China, 4-3, before reaching the finals by avenging their early loss to Chinese Taipei, 5-3.
