Why Ina Garten Never, Ever Watches Cooking Shows

Yep, she's never seen a single episode of 'Barefoot Contessa.'

We could spend hours (days?) binge-watching episodes of Barefoot Contessa. Is there anything more soothing than listening to Ina Garten's voice explaining how to make French apple tarts? But after 23 seasons of filming her hit show, Ina admits she hasn't seen a single episode. In fact, she doesn't like watching cooking shows at all.

"I never watch cooking shows, certainly not mine," she told People in this week's new Food Faves issue. "Not a chance. I would never do another show. I think I'm terrible! I'm glad other people like it, that's all I can say."

Despite the fact that she hates watching herself on the small screen, Ina attributes the success of the show to her recipes and her husband, Jeffrey, who she says is her biggest fan.

"He's a great audience because whatever I serve, he says, 'That's the best thing I've ever had!' Which is why I love to cook for him!" she told People. "I think he really means it at the moment but then the next time, it's something else."

Ina's newest TV series, Barefoot Contessa: Cook Like A Pro, debuted in May, and aims to teach viewers cooking techniques rather than focusing on specific recipes—and we're already hooked.

Don't worry Ina, we'll be watching your shows, even if you aren't!
