With the announcement that Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters has been crowned this year's Miss Universe, we take a look at what she wins, apart from the coveted title, crown, and sash. Note that the extensive travels she will pursue in a year’s course are not a prize technically, but part of the job as Miss Universe. These are the prizes part of this year’s package, according to the Miss Universe web page:

A year-long salary

I am so grateful for everything. I can’t say thank you enough for everything I did, for the opportunity to represent Miss Universe Organization this year. I wanna say a special thanks to all the people I worked with during this year. Paula, Esther, and everybody from the organization, all the directors from the countries I visited. All the contestants and especially the contestants from my year, I wish we could do another one together. The salary is part of her contract since she is to be employed by the Miss Universe organization.
