It's practically perfect in every way.

It's hard to improve on perfection, but Emily Blunt is sure going to try.

In the middle of the Oscars broadcast, Disney dropped the first trailer for Mary Poppins Returns, a long-awaited sequel to the 1964 musical about everyone's favorite magical nanny that starred Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.

In the clip above, a strong wind (from the east, one would assume) blows a paper kite out of the trash of the Banks's home. The homemade toy then crosses the path of Lin Manuel Miranda, whose lamplighter character Jack is something akin to Bert in this iteration, and finally finds a young boy, who casts it up into the air.

When the kite comes back down, it's accompanied by none other than Mary Poppins herself (sans umbrella). She then pops in on her former charges, Jane and Michael Banks (played by Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw), who at this point are all grown up.

Not seen in the trailer are Colin Firth who will star as something of the villain of the film: Fidelity Fiduciary Bank owner William Weatherall Wilkins. Angela Lansbury will play a balloon seller, and Meryl Streep will appear as Topsy, Mary's cousin.

Van Dyke will reportedly appear in a much smaller role of bank chairman, but don't expect to see him reunite with Andrews. While she does approve of the project, and of Blunt's casting, she will not appear in the film.

Mary Poppins Returns will premiere in theaters on Christmas Day.
