5 Things We Learned From the First Trailer for The Crown Season 2
After leaving fans in the dark for months, The Crown's second season finally has a premiere date, and a trailer previewing the dramatic continuation of Queen Elizabeth's story. Here's everything we learned from the first sneak peek.
MARITAL PROBLEMS WILL BE A FOCUS OF THIS SEASON'S DRAMA
The trailer opens with Elizabeth saying, "The rumors still haven't gone away."
It's unclear what rumors to which she's referring, but it's a good bet they have something to do with Philip. The royal couple's relationship troubles are central to the trailer, and presumably the season. In the clip, the Prince is seen on his solo overseas tour sporting quite the beard and at its conclusion, he attempts to establish his loyalty and love for Elizabeth saying, "Is it not possible that among all of those problems [the prime minister resigning, issues with Margaret and her mother], there are some of us who are there for you no matter what?"
Elizabeth curtly replies, "If only."

If season one focused on Princess Margaret's forbidden love affair with Peter Townsend, season two will center around her courtship and marriage to photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, played by Downton Abbey favorite Matthew Goode.
