The first weeks of October went by quickly. Maybe you were swamped with work, or maybe you were just on the fence on whether or not you wanted to participate in the spookiest holiday of the year. But as the date draws closer, your grown-up friends are feeling nostalgic for trick-or-treating or you’re suddenly invited to a costume party that you actually want to go to, and now you only have a week to put together a Halloween get-up!

Fear not because addressing this dilemma is as easy as pumpkin pie. Here are our ideas for last-minute costumes you can make out of things you already have in your closet:

Sandy Olsson

This all-black outfit may seem simple, but it oozes with glamour and sex appeal. That says a whole lot about a costume that doesn’t show a ton of skin. The X-factor of this classic has been tried-and-tested by the likes of Joanna Krupa and Gigi Hadid. With the right lipstick and a dose of attitude, you can embody the original Sandy’s effortless cool too. Tell us about it, stud!

What You'll Need:

An off-shoulder black top
Leather jacket
Black leggings (leather, if you want to be as close as possible to the movie version)
Heels (Sandy wears bright red ones, but you can improvise)

Styling Tip:

If you’re up for the extra primping, you can take this look up a notch with big hair and va-va-voom curls!

Wednesday Addams

There’s a reason this creepy lady never fails to make a comeback every Halloween, and that’s because her iconic look is so easy to replicate. Dressing up as Zendaya’s character from The Greatest Showman may be the fashionable, show-stopping choice this year, but we can’t resist the “undying” (pun intended) appeal of Wednesday’s style. You can go minimalist and channel Christina Ricci’s '90s Wednesday, or you could glam her up. Envisioning a Coachella-inspired Wednesday? Why not? She’s like Halloween’s Barbie. This year, I’m thinking of Wednesday’s love for orthopedic shoes and thinking of using that as a subtle gesture towards the “ugly fashion” trend.

What You'll Need:

A long-sleeved, mid-length, black dress with a white, Victorian collar
Thin, white, knee-high socks
Black, orthopedic shoes

Styling Tip:

Part your hair into two braids and practice the most stoic expression you can manage.

Holly Golightly

Every woman’s obsession with Breakfast at Tiffany’s infamous socialite went meta in the first season of Big Little Lies when Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), and Jane (Shailene Woodley) dressed up in different Holly looks for an Audrey Hepburn/Elvis Presley-themed party. You would think that making everyone dress up as the same person would be boring, but each woman really made the costume her own, with special props to Madeline for finding inspiration outside of the classic tiara and LBD look. She chose the outfit Holly wears when Paul visits her apartment: a men’s shirt and a chic, sleep mask. It was a pleasant reminder that even when Holly sleeps, she looks chic! That’s proof you can costume as her for several Halloweens in a row (or better yet, all year round) if you wanted to.

What You'll Need:

A black, sleeveless dress
Black, elbow-length gloves
Multi-string pearl choker necklace
Tiara
Large, black sunglasses
Black heels
Long cigarette

Styling Tip:

Accessorize with a coffee cup and a croissant to really bring the “breakfast” aspect home.

Lara Croft

Maybe you want to show off your badass side this year? Wonder Woman, the Bride from Kill Bill, and “Rey” from Star Wars are all amazing, girl-power costumes, but the easiest one to pull off at the last minute is low-maintenance-cool Lara Croft.

What You'll Need:

A black tank top
Black shorts
Boots
Belt
Gun holster
A minimum of two, toy guns

Styling Tip:

Pull your hair back into Lara’s trademark French braid and you’re ready to kick butt.

Mia Wallace

For this next costume, you may not even need to wear shoes! With a blunt bob and bangs, you’ll instantly be recognizable as crime boss wife Mia Wallace even if your outfit is made of the two basic staples that you can literally find in every girl’s closet. The glamour of Mia’s character is her “less is more” attitude that ensures her character never needs an introduction.

What You'll Need:

White button down
Cropped black pants (movie Mia’s are flare, but it doesn’t matter if yours are straight-leg or skinny as long as they’re cropped)
A black bra

Styling Tip:

Leave the first two buttons of your shirt open for a subtly sexier look.

Rosie the Riveter

If you’re not a fan of wearing all black, Rosie’s head-to-toe denim look may be more up your alley! Rosie represents all women and what we are all capable of, and so it’s no wonder she is still a popular costume until today worn with the likes of Beyonce and Kendall Jenner embracing her legend.

What You'll Need:

A denim shirt
Denim jeans
Red bandana
Brown boots or sneakers

Styling Tip:

If you have extra time, you can get some poster paints and illustration board to create her famous background.

Frida Kahlo

Frida is a great, last-minute costume choice if you’re looking for something you can get a little more creative with.  You’ll need extra, craft skills to create the flower headdress, but other than that, it should be no problem finding the perfect, vintage-y frock to wear not just during Halloween but all year round. If you add some skeleton makeup, you can also go as Mama Imelda from Coco, a look that is probably more 2018, but we’re pretty sure Frida is going to keep inspiring not just Halloween costumes but also the cultural world in general for years to come.

What You'll Need:

Flower headdress
Shawl or pashmina
Embroidered top or dress
Earrings

Styling Tip:

Frida’s signature brow is the most essential part of this look so never discount the importance of a good brow game.
