La La Land led this morning's Golden Globes nominations with seven nods in categories including all four of the major awards (Best Motion Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director).

Barry Jenkins' critically beloved coming-of-age story Moonlight came in at a close second with six nominations, while Kenneth Lonergan's emotional character drama Manchester By The Sea picked up five. Tom Ford earned both writing and directing nominations for his second film Nocturnal Animals.

Over on the small screen, FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story looks set to replicate its board-sweeping success at the Emmys, picking up five nominations including nods for Sarah Paulson, Sterling K. Brown, and John Travolta.

Significantly, the Best TV Drama category was made up almost entirely of new shows—HBO's Westworld, NBC's This Is Us, and Netflix's Stranger Things and The Crown—with only Game of Thrones pulling a repeat nomination.

The Golden Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, an organization made up of roughly 100 U.S.-based foreign journalists from across the world.
