Celine Dion, one of the world's most popular and well-known singers, is in Manila for a two-night concert at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Here’s what you need to know about the Canadian chanteuse and her trip to the Philippines.

SHE STARTED HER CAREER AT 16.

By the time Dion was 18, she has already recorded nine French albums and garnered multiple awards. Her first English album came later in 1990, but her international breakthrough happened when she sang the theme song of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

DION MARRIED HER MANAGER RENÉ ANGÉLIL IN 1994.

The two met when she was 12 and he was 38. Dion has three stepchildren with Angélil and three biological children, René-Charles and fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson through in-vitro fertilization. Angélil died in 2016.

SHE’S ONE OF THE RICHEST WOMEN IN THE U.S.

As of July 2018, Forbes estimates Dion’s net worth at $430 million which puts her at number 46 on their 2018 list of America’s Self-Made Women. Much of the singer’s wealth was made from her long-running concert series in Las Vegas.

HER LATEST TOUR MARKS HER FIRST CONCERTS IN ASIA AND AUSTRALIA SINCE 2008.

Celine Dion Live 2018 began on June 26, 2018 in Tokyo and includes stops in China, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand with a total of 22 concerts. Tickets to the shows quickly sold out, and dates were added in Taipei, Manila, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland.

HERE’S WHAT CONCERTGOERS CAN EXPECT.

Arriving in Manila, Celine told reporters, “I had this song that just came out in my head, ‘I came ready… rain or shine, I came ready,'” She continued, “I'm very, very excited. I'm not just talking about me, but I'm talking on behalf of all my people, the musicians, the singers, we’re all excited to be here.”

Concertgoers can expect a lively performance from the Grammy award-winning singer. According to Taiwan News, she told those who attended her Taipei show the story of how Ryan Reynolds approached her about playing a part in Deadpool 2:

Before singing the song "Ashes" from the film "Deadpool 2," she said that when she received an invitation letter from the star of the film Ryan Reynolds, she thought it was to ask her to play a part in the film. However, when she learned it was a request to sing for the movie, she said she was honored.

She then joked that parents should definitely not let their children watch the crazy movie.
