2016 was the year that gave us such magical things like unicorn ice cream, sweet potato toast, and raindrop cake. So when Googled shared their top search results of the year with us, we were surprised to see that the #1 most-searched recipe of the year was…green bean casserole? Read on to find out what else made it on this list of the 10 most Googled recipes of 2016.

1. Green Bean Casserole


Yes, the #1 most searched recipe on Google in 2016 was everybody's least favorite holiday side dish. Unfortunately, it's not Thanksgiving without it, so everybody was forced to search for a decent recipe online.

Another healthy surprise—Brussels sprouts were the second most-searched recipe this year. We prefer ours roasted with bacon and drizzled with balsamic glaze.

Turns out people don't just want to look for vegetable recipes online (phew!). Third place goes to a brunch favorite—hash brown casserole.
