Filipino American Restaurateur Nicole Ponseca Is Nominated for a James Beard Award

The past few weeks have been quite a whirlwind for Filipinos in the food industry: Jordy Navarra’s Toyo Eatery took the 43rd spot on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, three Filipino American chefs were named semifinalists for the James Beard Awards, and most recently, Filipino restaurateur and author Nicole
She wrote on her Instagram, “Wow a James Beard Finalist for Best Cookbook International! ‘If it’s a dream, please don’t wake me up. It feels so real.’” She then took the time to thank the James Beard Foundation, chef Miguel Trinidad, and the Artisan Books team as well as the “community and readers and industry folk” who supported her.
