The Peninsula Manila is elevating your afternoon tea time experience by taking inspiration from the works of National Artist for Visual Arts Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera. Here’s why you need to visit:

A product of art, design, and technology, the exhibition is the first of its kind.

The hotel recently added new art installations on the walls of its famous lobby in the form of “tapestries.” Eight of the national artist’s works were blown up and put on display: Images of the Past, Milk Carrier, Shoe Vendor, I No Longer Worry, Variation of Sabel III, Sabel, Mother & Child, and Dance in Five Movements. This is the largest group of tapestries the national artist has ever presented, and you can take a look at them yourself.

Presented by Abitare Internazionale, this exciting exhibition came to life with the help of MOOOI Carpets. The Dutch design brand used digital carpet-printing technology to enlarge the paintings and print them onto the tapestries.

It will be quite an immersive experience.

Aside from the sheer pleasure of being surrounded by BenCab’s many works (not to mention the classic glamour of the Peninsula), the special menu is inspired by the paintings themselves, specifically, the Sabel and Larawan

It can be a great form of bonding, too.

If that wasn’t enough to entice you, then make a group activity out of it: you and your family or friends can stroll around the storied lobby of the Pen, soak up amazing art, and sip tea afterward to discuss your favorite BenCab work. It's a cultural leisure activity you wouldn't want to miss.

The BenCab “Art” Afternoon Tea will be served daily until October 15, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is available at P1,590 per guest or P2,190 with a flute of Champagne.
