Martha Stewart's Easter Party Looked Like Absolute Perfection

Aspiring Martha Stewart Blake Lively was there, of course.

Over three years after Martha Stewart threw shade at Preserve founder Blake Lively for trying to be the next Martha Stewart, Blake Lively was photographed walking up to Stewart's Bedford, New York, home to attend her Easter party. Maybe ultimately, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Her daughter James Reynolds was with her, with a matching hairstyle and dressed in pink. Lively went for a more sophisticated look: a tan turtleneck, long print floral skirt, long brown Smythe coat, and green boats. Just what you'd expect a Martha Stewart aspirant to wear...or an actress who would love to be in a Martha Stewart Living magazine spread at least. She carried food with her (Lively's cooking won her Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Reynolds' hearts once upon a time) and bunny ears.

Lively did not document Stewart's party on her Instagram, presumably because she wanted to have a holiday and show the utmost respect to her hostess. But we are still blessed because Stewart posted three Instagrams from her party.

She lamented over the lost cookies that everyone, including Lively presumably, ate!

The pierogi, her mother's recipe, was a hit with all the guests at lunch!

Stewart had SO many bunnies at her house. She posted an Instagram gallery with no less than five very different varieties. Maybe James got to play with the stuffed animal one:

Of course, Lively's invitation signifies just how far her friendship with Stewart has come. In September 2014, Stewart quipped to Porter of Lively and her brand Preserve, "I don't get the sense she's credible. She's enthusiastic, but she's not credible."

In July 2014, Stewart joked to the Huffington Post "Let her try [to be the next Martha Stewart]...I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress!"

In November 2014, things between her and Stewart publicly thawed. They did a Q&A together, where Stewart introduced Lively as "my neighbor and my friend and the most gorgeous woman on the red carpet at Cannes!"

Ryan Reynolds helped make it happen, Lively recalled then. "He rides around on his motorcycle, and Martha said, 'Oh, I know how to ride a motorcycle, I can go with him.' That's the only woman that could creep up on my man! I said to him, 'Oh, please, go with Martha, it would be so great for us!'"

Then Preserve ended in October 2015 officially. "I'm going to take this hit, and the only way I can prove all the negative reactions wrong is to come back with a plan that will rock people," Lively said in an interview about its closure. "And I have that plan. And I'm so excited about it, and that's what gave me the courage to do this, to say, 'You know what, I'm going to give myself one more shot at this, and I really have to do it as well as I can do it this time.' And that is the only thing that will impact people. And that's what I'm doing. And I'm totally terrified out of my mind! I've asked my assistant to just play 'Shake It Off' on a loop—it feels really good to listen to it on a loop!"

No new project has launched yet, of course, though Lively's film career is booming (so Stewart was right about that) as is her Easter-invite-garnering friendship with Stewart.
