The world’s most exclusive cars. Intimate parties. Stunning scenery. This is Monterey Car Week, and if it’s not already on your social calendar, it should be.

Every year thousands of car lovers flock to Monterey, a small town located on a stretch of California’s most beautiful coastline, for a week of events centered around the most beautiful automobiles in the world. It also attracts buyers (preliminary car sales from this years event totaled $368 million), stylish onlookers, and collectors from around the globe. Get a glimpse at the week’s most glamorous events below.

Private jets and luxe cars make for excellent partners. At the unofficial kick-off event to the week, McCall’s Motorworks Revival, vintage and brand new automobiles (like Genesis’ new Essentia Concept model) are on display alongside impressive jets.

The most exclusive event of the week, The Quail, is the place to be seen. Spread across acres of pristine lawn reside hundreds of impeccable vintage cars, where stylish onlookers walk the field (a hat is a must).

Luxurious cars are on display—like Genesis’ Essentia Concept, a stunning vehicle with doors that open via face recognition—providing a beautiful contrast to vintage models dating back to 1940.

Once the show ends, the parties begin. Genesis’ all-white cocktail party gathered guests from around the world to celebrate the week (and the brand's impressive G70 model, the newest to be released within the US), many of whom have attended Monterey Car Week for years. Recently though, it's become a must-attend destination for actresses, It-girls, and the world's richest social set.

The iconic Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has been the primary event of the week since its origin in 1950. Each car presented has never been shown before, and only one car of its style is able to be entered into the competition. Chic gentlemen in suits and ladies in hats strut the field, meandering amongst automobiles so perfect they must still have their original mechanics tools.

If you missed this years show—or didn’t know it existed—start planning your trip for 2019. Accommodations book up quickly!
