You Can Now Own Pieces of the Waldorf Astoria From eBay
A curious new lot of goods has appeared on eBay: pieces of the Waldorf Astoria's famous infrastructure.
The iconic, circa-1931 hotel, which has housed every president since Herbert Hoover, temporarily closed its doors today for a renovation that will convert hundreds of its 1,400 guest rooms into private condominiums. It was , Anbang Insurance Group, for nearly $2 billion in 2015.
Now, antiques from the hotel are being listed by an unidentified seller — we only know him as "redwagonantiques1" — on eBay for tens of thousands of dollars. It's unknown who's behind the account, and the seller didn't respond to ELLEDecor.com for comment as of press time. All we know is that the user is located in Andover, New Jersey (the items require pick-up) and that he or she is donating a portion of the profits for many items to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Four Carved Glass Panels

Circa 1931, these original revolving doors provided a private entrance to the Waldorf Astoria towers. The doors are made of a bronze and steel framework, and the steel top girder still has the original shipping address to the Waldorf Astoria in large ink letters. The glass incorporates chicken wire.
