Timelessness and modernity—although the two concepts may at first seem irreconcilable, they meld harmoniously at the heart of B&B Italia. The luxury Italian furniture house is renowned for its classic yet contemporary pieces.

Perhaps one of the best examples is Tufty-Time, the modular seating system designed by Patricia Urquiola. Launched in 2005, it quickly became one of B&B Italia’s most successful items. Ten years later, the brand paid homage to the innovative sofa with Tufty-Time 15.

The set blends elements of the traditional capitonne and Chesterfield sofa styles—with particular emphasis on the design reinterpretations of the 1960s—into a 360-degree seating solution, ideal for the versatile needs of modern living. An ottoman acts as the sofa’s basic piece and can be joined with any number of central, corner, or end pieces with low or high armrests. Configuration possibilities, from traditional linear sofas and corner sofas to chaise longues and island elements, are limited only by one’s imagination. Further customizable are the removable covers, available in a wide variety of top-quality fabrics and leathers. The Tufty-Time 15 seating system is also available in a new textile version, even more contemporary with its large squares and kick pleats.

Meanwhile, 2008’s Tufty-Too offers softer Chesterfield features and distinctively highlights the capitonne style with the option of eye- catching contrasting cover seam hues.
