I must say I love the idea of cards that say “In your name, I have made a donation to so-and-so charity.” It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season of giving, especially for those who have rooms and rooms bursting with just about everything.

Still, many prefer tangible objects as sentimental presents from people they care about. Here are some suggestions for pretty gifts and stocking stuffers that give back.

Bulgari Save the Children bracelet, inspired by its B.zero1 jewelry line

For every sterling silver and black ceramic bracelet purchased, Bulgari donates $100 to Save the Children. Bulgari believes that education and learning are necessary for a child’s development. The company also supports programs for newborn babies.

Louis Vuitton Lockit pendant, inspired by the tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890

For every silver pendant or bracelet purchased, Louis Vuitton donates $200 to the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The pendant locks in the company’s pledge to help children and families who need it most.

H. Nakata and Damiani the Metropolitan Dream Collection

Part of the revenues from this collection by former Japanese football star Hidetoshi Nakata go to the “Clean Water Project” which constructs clean water wells in Africa.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely products

For every shower gel, cream, lotion, or balm purchased, Neal’s Yard Remedies makes a donation to help save bees that are being killed by powerful insecticides. Since the program started five years ago, the company has raised over 60,000 pounds for bee-friendly causes.

M.A.C Viva Glam

All the proceeds of Viva Glam lipstick and Lipglass go to the M.A.C Aids Fund, which helps women, men, and children living with HIV and AIDS. This year’s collection includes spokesperson Ariana Grande’s shimmering mauve Lipglass and orchid pink lipstick.

Lush Charity Pot

Proceeds from the charity pots go to various grassroots groups with limited resources. A recent project by CARA Welfare involved the rehabilitation of rescued pitbulls in Laguna. Lush also took part in a project spearheaded by Piglas Pilipinas against the use of fossil fuel.
